Beaches with blue flags of the Maresme

Ten beaches in the Maresme region have received the blue flag, a badge awarded annually by the European Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) to beaches and ports that meet a series of conditions: water quality, environmental management, education, and safety.

This program of the blue flag promotes the sustainable development of marine and freshwater areas, encouraging local authorities and beach operators to achieve high standards. The Maresme region is one of the regions with the bluest flags. Specifically, the beaches are Riera beach and Pineda de Mar fishermen's beach, Garbí beach in Calella, El Masnou, and Ocata. Port Masnou also has these two distinctive features. They are generous beaches that have all kinds of recreational facilities and rigorous environmental quality controls.
